The Horns
"The Horns" subverts the classical cornucopia, replacing symbols of fecundity with fragments of rupture. This ceramic installation functions as both personal catharsis and cultural critique. Each horn—individually formed, collectively overwhelming—embodies a turning point where empathy curdles into disillusionment. The gesture of “growing horns” supplants the tired adage of “growing balls,” recasting resilience as resistance rather than brute courage. It reflects a recognition that moral clarity and informed dialogue are no match for the entrenchment of willful ignorance. This is not abundance, but accumulation—of rage, of helplessness, of broken idealism. The work resists consolation. It confronts instead, unflinching.
