François Grenier is a ceramic artist working in sculpture—figurative, geometric, and vessel-based forms that reject utility in favour of emotional and intellectual confrontation. His work ranges from bruised, hand-marked vessels to stylized heads that depict a range of emotions from apathy to aggression, all unified by a commitment to raw material experimentation and compositional tension. Grenier doesn’t repeat himself. His surfaces are crusts, not glazes. His vessels don’t hold water—and they’re not supposed to.
