François Grenier is a ceramic artist creating sculptural works—figurative, abstract geometric, and vessel-based—that prioritize emotional and intellectual engagement over traditional utility. His pieces range from bruised, hand-marked vessels to stylized heads expressing emotions from apathy to anger, unified by a commitment to raw material experimentation and compositional tension. Grenier doesn’t repeat himself. His surfaces are crusts, not glazes. His vessels don’t hold water—and they’re not supposed to.
